
MEMPHIS, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points Friday and Jason Kidd handed out 15 assists to send the Dallas Mavericks coasting past Memphis 98-83.
Kidd, playing his second game for the Mavericks since being acquired in a trade with New Jersey, had 10 assists in the first 15 minutes to help Dallas end a two-game losing streak.
Jason Terry added 22 points for Dallas and Josh Howard had 20. The Mavericks beat the Grizzlies for the 11th straight time.
Kidd scored only two points, but he had four steals and committed a mere two turnovers.
Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 18 points. Memphis lost its fourth straight and played without Mike Miller, who missed his second straight game with back spasms.
Dallas led by as many as 26 points in the third period. Nowitzki hit eight of nine from the field and scored 12 points in the first period, and Dallas shot 50 percent from the field.
