College hoops game postponed by wet floor

ATLANTA, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Thursday night's men's college basketball game between Virginia and Georgia Tech was postponed because of a wet floor at Tech's Alexander Coliseum.

The floor at the Atlanta venue was wet because of a leaky roof and the postponement was for the safety of players for both schools.

"We're going to work very hard to find a makeup date," Athletics Director Dan Radakovich said on Tech's Web site. "We will begin (Friday) to find a window to play this game. I think it's important to the student-athletes who prepared to play this game that we find an opportunity for them to play."

The Yellow Jackets (11-13, 4-6 ACC) have lost three in a row. They beat Virginia 92-82 in overtime, in Charlottesville on Jan. 27.

The Cavaliers (12-12, 2-9) ended a seven-game losing streak Sunday with a 79-74 victory at Boston College.
