EAST LANSING, Mich., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Raymar Morgan led Michigan State's hot shooting performance Wednesday and the 17th-ranked Spartans downed Penn State 86-49.

Goran Suton and Drew Neitzel both added 10 points for Michigan State, which suffered a nine-point loss to the Nittany Lions early this month. Michigan State shot 58.3 percent from the field.

The earlier setback against Penn State was one of three losses in the previous five games for the Spartans (21-5, 9-4 Big Ten).

Penn State (12-13, 4-9) was led by Stanley Pringle with 12 and Jamelle Cornley with 11.

Michigan State built a 12-point halftime lead and Morgan scored nine points in a 13-2 run to open the second period.

The Spartans have won all of their 15 home games this season, seven of which have come in conference play. They have also beaten Penn State in nine of their last 10 meetings.
