COL BKB: Xavier 81, Rhode Island 77

KINGSTON, R.I., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Josh Duncan, perfect from the field for the second straight game, scored 23 points Monday to lead 12th-ranked Xavier to an 81-77 win over Rhode Island.

Duncan, who made all seven of his field goal attempts last Wednesday in Xavier's win over Charlotte, made all eight of his field goal tries and all four of his free throws Monday for the Musketeers (22-4, 10-1 A-10), who have won eight games in a row.

B.J. Raymond had 14 points, and Stanley Burrell nine points, seven assists, and six rebounds for Xavier.

Parfait Bitee had 25 points and seven assists for Rhode Island (20-6, 6-5), which has lost three of its last four games. Will Daniels added 23 points for the Rams.
