NHL: Pittsburgh 4, Buffalo 1

BUFFALO, N.Y., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin and Petr Sykora each had a goal and assist for the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday in a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

The win lifted Pittsburgh into a first-place tie with idle New Jersey in the Atlantic Division.

Penguins goalie Ty Conklin recorded his 15th win of the season, blocking 36 Buffalo shots.

Jarkko Ruutu and Colby Armstrong got Pittsburgh's other two goals and Ryan Malone added a pair of assists.

Thomas Vanek scored for Buffalo.
