COL BKB: Marquette 72, Pittsburgh 54

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Jerel McNeal scored 17 points Friday and No. 25 Marquette went on a big run in the second half to down No. 24 Pittsburgh 72-54.

Ousmane Barrow added 14 points for Marquette (18-6, 8-5 Big East), which won its second straight and its fifth game out of seven.

The Golden Eagles took a nine-point halftime advantage and then scored 17 straight points early in the second period to turn the contest into a rout.

Pittsburgh (19-6, 7-5) was led by Sam Young with 18 points. The Panthers' Levance Fields, returning to the lineup after missing 12 games with a broken foot, scored four points.
