LUBBOCK, Texas, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Alan Voskuil produced 30 points Wednesday in helping Pat Knight win for the first time as Texas Tech coach with an 84-75 decision over No. 22 Kansas State.

Knight stepped into the job this month after his father unexpectedly resigned in the midst of the season.

The Red Raiders lost their first two games after the elder Knight's departure, but the Red Raiders made the younger Knight's first victory a big one -- an impressive triumph over the Big 12 Conference leader.

Martin Zeno added 16 points, and John Robertson and Mike Singletary both had 11 for Texas Tech (13-10, 4-5 Big 12).

Kansas State (17-6, 7-2) was led by Bill Walker with 27 and Michael Beasley with 22.
