Haas, Malisse out in first-round at Delray

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Tommy Haas lost to Diego Hartfield in three sets Monday at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

Hartfield sandwiched 6-2 set victories around a 3-6 loss.

Defending champion Xavier Malisse suffered a similar fate, losing to Bobby Reynolds 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

American James Blake, who lost to Malisse in last year's final, is the top seed this week.

In other first-round action, American Robby Ginepri beat Frenchman Mathieu Montcourt 6-3, 6-0; Spaniard Ivan Navarro outlasted France's Florent Serra 6-3, 3-6, 6-3; Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeated American Wayne Odesnik 6-4, 6-2; and Chilean Paul Capdeville beat American wild card Clint Bowles 6-2, 6-4.
