COL BKB: Pittsburgh 82, Providence 63

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Sam Young scored 22 points and had seven rebounds Tuesday, leading the 24th-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers to an 82-63 win over the Providence Friars.

DeJuan Blair and Ronald Ramon each scored 15 points for the Panthers (19-5, 7-4 Big East), who have won three of their last four games.

Marshon Brooks led the Friars (13-11, 4-8) with 15 points. Jeff Xavier added 14 points as Providence dropped suffered its sixth loss in its last seven games.

Providence has lost eight straight to Pittsburgh, not beating the Panthers since in seven years.
