France cruises into Davis Cup quarters

BUCHAREST, Romania, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- France completed a 5-0 shutout in Romania Sunday, advancing to the Davis Cup quarterfinals against the United States in April.

Among the French team's winners against Romania was fast-rising star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who outlasted Andrei Pavel in a four-set battle.

France's doubles team of Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra needed five sets to top Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau.
