
MILWAUKEE, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Malik Rose made the eventual game-winning basket Saturday when the New York Knicks rallied past the Milwaukee Bucks 99-98 to snap an eight-game losing streak.
Rose sank a layup to give the Knicks a 97-96 lead with 2:35 left, and his jumper with 1:53 remaining secured their first victory since an 89-81 win against Philadelphia Jan. 25.
The Knicks overcame an 81-65 deficit with 2:15 left in the third quarter.
Fred Jones had 18 points and six rebounds. David Lee had 17 points and nine rebounds. Zach Randolph had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Eddy Curry added 11 points.
Milwaukee was led by Charlie Villanueva's 21 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Redd had 21 points, three rebounds and five assists.
Charlie Bell had 17 points with seven assists, and Desmond Mason had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bucks, who have lost five of their last six games.
