PITTSBURGH, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin had two power play goals and one assist Saturday, keying the Pittsburgh Penguins' 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

His 29th goal this season at 11:09 of the first period followed a holding penalty by the Kings' Brad Stuart began the scoring and his 30th came at 11:41 of the second after Jack Johnson's hooking penalty.

It was part of a three-goal second when Pittsburgh increased its lead to 4-0.

Ryan Malone and Jordan Staal scored once each and Dany Sabourin stopped 26 of 28 Los Angeles shots for the Penguins, who have won three of their last four games.

Their power play unit has scored 13 goals in the last eight games and with 67 points, they assumed first place in the Atlantic Division over Philadelphia.

Derek Armstrong and Brad Boyle both scored in the third for Los Angeles. Jason LaBarbera was beaten four times on 36 shots for the Kings, who had won two in a row.
