Chakvetadze, Szavay reach final in Paris

PARIS, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Russian Anna Chakvetadze and seventh-seeded Hungarian Agnes Szavay won semifinal matches Saturday to advance to the final of the Open Gaz de France.

Chakvetadze defeated third-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 and Szavay beat two-time Grand Slam runner-up Elena Dementieva 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 in Saturday's semifinals.

Bartoli was last year's Wimbledon runner-up.

Chakvetadze, 20, is 1-0 lifetime against Szavay, 19. That win was in the second round at last year's French Open.

Chakvetadze is 6-0 in her career WTA Tour finals, including 4-0 last year.
