COL BKB: Michigan St. 70, Northwestern 55

EAST LANSING, Mich., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Drew Neitzel had 21 points and eight rebounds Saturday in the 10th-ranked Michigan State Spartans' 70-55 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats.

Neitzel connected on his first five field-goal attempts after not taking a shot for the first 12:40 of the game. He wound up 4 of 8 from three-point range.

Drew Naymick and Raymar Morgan each had 10 points for the Spartans (20-3, 8-2 Big Ten), who are 14-0 at home on the season.

Craig Moore made five three-pointers and scored 21 points for Northwestern (7-14, 0-10), which kept the game close for more than 30 minutes. Kevin Coble added 14 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats, winless in Big Ten action this season.
