NEW YORK, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- The personal trainer for Major League Baseball star Roger Clemens has testified Clemens' wife used human growth hormone, a published report said Friday.
Brian McNamee, who previously told a group investigating drug use in baseball that he injected Clemens with steroids, appeared Thursday before a Congressional committee.
The New York Daily News said McNamee testified he gave Debbie Clemens HGH at her husband's direction before the couple had photos taken for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 2003.
"McNamee discussed his (Clemens) wife's use before the committee," an unidentified source was quoted as telling the Daily News. "She was trying to get in shape for the (magazine) cover. He told them the story that Debbie took growth."
Clemens has denied using steroids or human growth hormone.
