BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Argentina used routs Friday by David Nalbandian and Agustin Calleri to build a 2-0 lead in a best-of-five Davis Cup series against Great Britain.
The home-standing Argentines, playing on their favorite red clay surface, look to lock up the series at a doubles match Saturday when Nalbandian and Jose Acasuso are to go against the British team of Ross Hutchins and Jamie Murray.
Nalbandian took Friday's first match in a straight-set 6-1, 6-3, 6-3 win over Jamie Baker and Calleri was even sharper in a 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 romp over Alex Bogdanovic for the 2-0 lead.
If Saturday's doubles match doesn't decide the series, it would come down to Sunday's reverse singles with Nalbandian set to meet Bogdanovic and Calleri paired against Baker.
