NHL: Washington 4, Columbus 3 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Alex Ovechkin scored two goals, including the winner 2:28 into overtime, Tuesday to give the Washington Capitals a 4-3 victory over Columbus.

Ovechkin fired a snap shot that went between Fredrik Norrena's pads for the winning score. He also had the Capitals' first goal of the night.

Tom Poti had a goal and an assist for Washington. Alexander Semin also scored for the Capitals and Brent Johnson stopped 28 of 31 shots in the win.

Rick Nash had two goals for Columbus, which lost its fourth in a row. Norrena allowed three goals on 13 shots in place of Pascal Leclaire, who left the game late in the second period with a neck injury.
