AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- The Pistons' Rasheed Wallace scored 21 points Sunday when Detroit belted the Dallas Mavericks 90-67.

After a slow start, the winners used an 11-2 spurt over the final 6:41 of the first period to take a 20-14 lead. A three-pointer and a jumper by Wallace late in the second advanced the lead to 44-38 at the half and a 10-0 run to close the third made it 66-51.

Detroit's sticky defense squelched a Dallas rally in the fourth.

Tayshaun Prince had 16 points and seven rebounds for Detroit. Rodney Stuckey scored 11, both Richard Hamilton and Jarvis Hayes scored 10, and Wallace added nine rebounds and blocked four shots for the Pistons, who have built a five-game winning streak.

Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard paced Dallas with 15 points apiece.

Reserve Brandon Bass had 14 points and six rebounds, and both Nowitzki and Erick Dampier collected 10 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have lost two in a row following a four-game winning streak.
