NHL: New Jersey 6, Los Angeles 3

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Colin White registered a goal and an assist Saturday and the New Jersey Devils pounded the Los Angeles Kings 6-3.

It was White's first goal in 126 games or since Feb. 7, 2006.

New Jersey settled the issue with a four-goal second period which led to a 5-2 lead heading into the third.

The goals were scored by Patrick Elias, Karel Rachunek, White and Travis Zajac.

White assisted on David Clarkson's goal at 4:43 of the first when the scoring started.

John Madden had two assists and Martin Brodeur made 23 stops on 26 shots for the Devils, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Los Angeles got goals from Brian Boyle and Jack Johnson in the second and Lubomir Visnovsky (unassisted) in the third.

Jason LaBarbera and Jean-Sebastien Aubin combined to give up six goals on 27 shots for the Kings, who have lost three of their last five games.
