TORONTO, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant came within two points of his season high with a 46-point effort Friday, leading the Los Angeles Lakers past Toronto 121-101.

Bryant also pulled down seven rebounds in the second game of the Lakers' season-long nine-game road trip.

Sasha Vujacic added 22 points for the Los Angeles, equaling his best showing of the campaign, and Jordan Farmar had 13.

The Lakers led by only six starting the fourth quarter, but they opened a 15-point advantage just five minutes deep in the period.

Toronto was led by Andrea Bargnani with 28 points.

Earlier in the day, the Lakers acquired center Pau Gasol from Memphis in exchange for center Kwame Brown, rookie guard Javaris Crittenton, guard Aaron McKie and two first-round draft choices -- as well as the rights to Pau Gasol's brother, Marc Gasol.
