COL BKB: Wisconsin 62, Indiana 49

MADISON, Wis., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Trevon Hughes scored 16 points Thursday and No. 13 Wisconsin pulled away in the second half to defeat 11th-ranked Indiana 62-49.

Indiana suffered its first Big Ten loss of the season.

Marcus Landry had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Badgers (17-3, 7-1 Big Ten), who bounced back from a road loss to Purdue Saturday. Wisconsin has won 11 of its last 12.

D.J. White led Indiana with 22 points and 17 rebounds, but the Hoosiers (17-3, 6-1) lost their second straight. Indiana dropped last weekend's non-conference encounter with Connecticut.

Wisconsin had a 30-20 halftime lead and went on a 13-4 run early in the second period. Indiana came no closer than five the rest of the way.

The outcome left Wisconsin, Michigan State and Purdue tied atop the Big Ten with 7-1 records and Indiana a half game behind.
