LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Josh Shipp and Kevin Love gave UCLA a quick start Thursday and the No. 5 Bruins blitzed Arizona State 84-51.

The Sun Devils scored the game's first two points and UCLA then took charge with an 18-2 run en route to a 46-24 halftime lead. The Bruins made 56 percent of their shots from the field and hit eight of 12 three-point attempts. Shipp scored 21 points and Love had 18 to keep the Bruins (19-2, 7-1 Pac-10) atop the conference race. After starting the season with a 14-2 mark, the Sun Devils (14-6, 4-4) have lost four in a row.

Arizona State has won just twice in its last 21 trips to UCLA and was limited to 36 percent shooting. The Sun Devils were led by Derek Glasser with 13.
