COL BKB: Arkansas 78, Mississippi St. 58

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Sonny Weems scored 22 points Wednesday and Arkansas brought an end to No. 25 Mississippi State's nine-game winning streak 78-58.

Patrick Beverley added 19 for the Razorbacks (15-5, 4-2 SEC), who put together a 14-0 run in the first half en route to a 15-point lead at the break.

Mississippi State had been unbeaten in conference play, a feat that allowed it to move into the national rankings this week.

The Bulldogs (14-6, 5-1) were led by Jamont Gordon with 24 points.
