Brady practices with slight limp

TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- New England quarterback Tom Brady returned to practice for the unbeaten Patriots Monday and participated with a slight limp.

Pool reporter Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, the only reporter allowed to watch the AFC champions practice Monday, reported that Brady had his ankle taped, and jogged the length of the field twice at the end of drills along with the rest of the team.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick declined to talk about Brady or his injury.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP said he hurt the ankle after he was sacked early in the third quarter of the AFC Championship game against San Diego.

Brady was absent during media availability at the Patriots' practice sessions last week.

Sunday's game against the New York Giants will be New England's fourth appearance in the Super Bowl in the past seven seasons. The Patriots, 18-0, are trying to become the second team in NFL history to finish a season without a loss. The 1972 Miami Dolphins were 17-0.
