NBA: Dallas 90, Denver 85

DALLAS, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to help the Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets 90-85 Sunday.

Nowitzki, who ended 12-of-17 from the field, also had 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who won their third straight game.

Josh Howard added 20 points and Jason Terry had 19 for Dallas.

Allen Iverson had 23 points to lead the Nuggets, who had a two-game winning streak broken as Carmelo Anthony sat out his third consecutive game with a sprained left ankle. Anthony Carter put 20 points on the board for the Nuggets, who have lost 19 of their last 21 at Dallas.
