SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Patrick Mills scored 14 of his game-high 24 points in the first half Saturday to key a 79-57 rout of San Francisco by No. 24 Saint Mary's.

The freshman guard from Canberra, Australia, sank 9 of 16 shots, including 4 of 8 three-pointers in his second highest scoring output this season.

Saint Mary's held a slim 35-30 halftime advantage but seized control with an 11-0 spurt midway through the second half to forge a 58-40 lead with 9:08 left.

The run was capped by Ian O'Leary's three-pointer.

Omar Samhan had 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Tron Smith scored 11 points and O'Leary 10 for the Gaels (17-2, 4-0 West Coast Conference) in their fifth win in a row.

San Francisco got 19 points apiece from Manny Quezada and Dior Lowhorn.

Myron Strong was the only other player in double figures for the Dons (5-14, 1-3), who failed in their second attempt to get Coach Eddie Sutton his 800th career victory.
