
CORAL GABLES, Fla., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Dwayne Collins registered a double-double Sunday with 18 points and 12 rebounds to carry Miami-Florida past No. 25 Clemson 75-72.
Miami held a slight 37-35 halftime advantage after Clemson used an 18-4 run to overcome a 12-point deficit.
Two free throws by swingman Brian Asbury gave Miami its halftime advantage.
Miami guard Jack McClinton ensured the victory with three straight three-point field goals in span of 1:21 late in the second half. McClinton finished with 16 points and three assists.
Lance Hurdle scored 14 points and Asbury had 11 points and six rebounds for the (15-4, 2-3 ACC), who broke a three-game losing streak.
Clemson got a team-high 15 points from Demontez Stitt.
James Mays had 14 points and five rebounds and was the only other player scoring in double digits for the slumping Tigers (15-5, 3-3), who have lost two of three.
They began the season by winning their first 10 contests.
