MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Jessie Sapp scored 15 points, including a three-pointer with 6.2 seconds left Saturday, to pace ninth-ranked Georgetown to a 58-57 victory over West Virginia.

Roy Hibbert had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Georgetown (16-2, 6-1 Big East), which won its third straight game and tightened its hold on first place in the Big East standings.

Darris Nichols led all scorers with 16 points for West Virginia (15-5, 4-3), and Alex Ruoff and Da'Sean Butler added 13 and 12 points respectively for the Mountaineers, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

With the Hoyas trailing 57-55 after Nichols went 1-of-2 at the free throw line with 31 seconds remaining, Sapp took a pass from Jonathan Wallace at the top of the key, faked a drive into the lane, pulled up and sank the three-pointer.

Butler took a last-second shot for West Virginia, but Patrick Ewing Jr. blocked it.
