DENVER, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Pavol Demitra delivered the game-winning goal with 6:19 remaining in the second period Thursday and Minnesota went on to down Colorado 3-2.

Todd Fedoruk and Brian Rolston also scored for Minnesota, which moved into first place in the Northwest Division ahead of Calgary with 59 points.

The win went to Niklas Backstrom, who made 28 saves. Colorado has lost three out of four.

Demitra's goal came on an easy tap-in from the top of the crease after Jose Theodore stopped the original shot from Kurtis Foster.
