Martin Biron made 21 saves in helping the Flyers win for the fifth time in six games.

Pittsburgh is one point behind Pittsburgh and New Jersey in the division race. Evgeni Malkin, Ryan Whitney and Petr Sykora scored for the Penguins and Ty Conklin made 33 saves.

Pittsburgh tied the game early in the third on a shorthanded goal by Whitney. The puck crossed the goal line just as Jordan Staal slammed into the net and dislodged it. It took a review that lasted several minutes before the goal was allowed.

Knuble then put the Flyers in front when he grabbed his own rebound and shoved it past Conklin.
