NBA: San Antonio 103, LA Lakers 91

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan scored 28 points Wednesday and San Antonio staged a third-quarter comeback to down the Los Angeles Lakers 103-91.

Duncan also claimed 17 rebounds, while Ime Udoka scored 18 points off the bench. San Antonio has won two straight after losing two in a row.

After claiming seven straight victories, the Lakers have dropped back-to-back games. Kobe Bryant scored 29 points to lead the Lakers.

Los Angeles had a nine-point halftime lead, but the Lakers scored only 12 points in the third period. They went scoreless for the first 6:31 of the quarter while the Spurs were producing 14 straight points.

San Antonio built a 10-point advantage going into the fourth period and the Lakers came no closer than six during the final 12 minutes.
