Jermaine O'Neal out 2 weeks with injury

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Indiana forward Jermaine O'Neal will be sidelined at least two weeks with a knee injury, the Pacers announced Saturday.

O'Neal, who has averaged 15.3 points per game this season, has not practiced with the team since suffering a bone bruise on his left knee in a game against Golden State Wednesday.

The veteran player already missed seven games this season because of problems with the same knee, on which he had surgery last April.

"We have some experience in being without Jermaine," Coach Jim O'Brien said. "You always hate to see any player go down for an extended period of time, but from a team standpoint we just have to deal with it and adjust to it."
