KITZBUEHEL , Austria, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Marco Buechel of Liechtenstein skied to a World Cup super-G victory in Austria Friday on a course that was shortened because of fog and high winds.

Buechel finished in 1:15.44, edging Austria's Hermann Maier at 1:15.60.

Marco Sullivan of Squaw Valley, Calif., came in 10th for the best American finish. Bode Miller of Bretton Woods, N.H., was 12th.

Race officials shortened the run by almost 200 feet because of concerns about weather conditions in the upper section of the course at Kitzbuehel.
