PHOENIX, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Rick Nash scored with 22 seconds remaining in the third period Thursday, lifting the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 victory over Phoenix.
The Blue Jackets won their fourth straight, surviving a wild third period during which they twice lost the lead.
Columbus had a 2-1 advantage heading into the final period, but Peter Mueller tied it on the power play 4:58 into the stanza.
Nikolai Zherdev scored by wrapping a shot around the post at 8:26 to give Columbus a 3-2 lead, but then Martin Hanzal scored another power-play tally for Phoenix with 1:38 left in the period.
That set up Nash's game-winning goal, coming on a wrist shot that got past Mikael Tellqvist. Nash also scored the first Columbus goal that tied it at 1-1 midway through the second.
Pascal Leclaire made 32 saves for the victory.
