COL BKB: Texas Tech 68, Texas A&M 53

LUBBOCK, Texas, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A 19-point effort by Martin Zeno Wednesday gave Texas Tech a 68-53 win over Texas A&M and Coach Bob Knight his 900th career victory.

The Red Raiders limited the Aggies to 23 percent shooting from the field in the first half and added another milestone to the record of the winningest coach in the history of men's major college basketball.

Knight became the third coach to reach 900 wins, joining Tennessee women's coach Pat Summitt (959) and former Texas women's coach Jody Conrad (900).

The Red Raiders improved to 10-6 for the year and evened their Big 12 Conference mark at 1-1.

The ninth-ranked Aggies fell to 15-2 and 1-1. Texas A&M had won eight in a row.

Trevor Cook added a career-best 14 points for the Red Raiders, winners of four out of five. The Aggies were led by 11 each from Josh Carter and Joseph Jones.
