COL BKB: Tennessee 80, Vanderbilt 70

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Wayne Chism had 18 points and 18 rebounds Thursday, boosting No. 7 Tennessee past 14th-ranked Vanderbilt 80-60.

Tennessee pulled away late in the first half en route to its 10th straight victory. Tyler Smith and JaJuan Smith both added 14 points for the Volunteers (15-1, 3-0 SEC).

After winning their first 16 games, the Commodores have lost two in a row. Vanderbilt (16-2, 1-2) was held under 70 points for the first time this season.

The Commodores were led by Shan Foster with 14 points and A.J. Ogilvy with 12.

Vanderbilt came no closer than eight points in the second half and it took a 15-2 run to do that.

A 10-2 Tennessee surge just past the midway point of the first half put the Volunteers in control. They eventually built a 36-23 halftime lead.

It was Tennessee's 25th straight home win.
