PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Danny Briere scored two goals and Kimmo Timonen had a goal and two assists for the surging Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday in a 5-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

The Flyers are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.

Simon Gagne and Scott Hartnell added a goal apiece for Philadelphia, which led 4-3 going into the final period. Antero Nittymaki blocked 28 shots for the Flyers.

Jay Bouwmeester, Rostislav Olesz and Stephen Weiss scored the Florida goals. The Panthers have lost eight of 10.
