Hendrickson has also pitched for Toronto and Tampa Bay. His overall record is 43-55 with an ERA of 5.01.

"Mark gives us another quality left-handed arm in our rotation, and his experience and veteran leadership should benefit our clubhouse," Marlins Manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

From 1996 to 2000, Hendrickson played parts of four seasons with four NBA teams: Philadelphia, Sacramento, New Jersey and Cleveland.
