COL BKB: Mississippi 74, LSU 71

OXFORD, Miss., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Eniel Polynice and Chris Warren scored 15 points each Saturday for No. 15 Mississippi, which nearly lost a 22-point lead before beating LSU 74-71.

Malcolm White had 12 points and Kenny Williams added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Rebels (14-1, 1-1 SEC).

Mississippi's big lead was reduced to just two points with 17.8 seconds left but Warren sank a couple of free throws to keep his team ahead.

LSU's Marcus Thornton was the game's top scorer with 25 points. The Tigers are 7-9 overall and 0-2 in the SEC.
