Holmgren to decide future at end of season

SEATTLE, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren, who has led his team to the playoffs five straight years, says he'll make a decision on his coaching future once the season ends.

The Seahawks play at Green Bay Saturday.

Holmgren, 59, told the Seattle Post-Intelligence he and his wife, Kathy, plan to discuss his future after this season.

He has a year remaining on his contract with Seattle.

The Holograms sold their house at Mercer Island in the past year and moved to a condo just blocks from the team's headquarters. But the Seahawks are moving next year to Rent on, which is closer to Mercer Island.

The newspaper report said that move was "only part of the puzzle that leads some to think Holmgren is in his final days of coaching" in Seattle.

Holmgren coached Green Bay to two Super Bowls, winning one. Seattle got to the big game in 2005, losing to Pittsburgh. .

Holmgren said he's "pushing hard" to get back to the Super Bowl this year.

"I think you do that when you kind of know you've had more games behind you than you've got in front of you."
