COL BKB: Xavier 83, St. Bonaventure 68

CINCINNATI, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- C.J. Anderson helped Xavier get off to a quick start Wednesday and the Musketeers went on to down St. Bonaventure 83-68.

The game was the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams and Xavier kicked it off by scoring the first nine points.

The 25th-ranked Musketeers added a 14-4 run late in the first half. St. Bonaventure closed within seven points in the second half before Xavier dashed to a 24-point advantage with seven minutes to play.

Anderson scored 21 points and collected 11 rebounds. B.J. Raymond also scored 21 for the Musketeers (13-3), who have won five in a row. Xavier has beaten St. Bonaventure seven straight times.

The Bonnies (6-9) were paced by Zarryon Fereti with 22 points and Michael Lee with 21.
