NHL: Pittsburgh 3, Florida 1

SUNRISE, Fla., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist Tuesday, powering the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-1 victory over the Florida Panthers.

Petr Sykora and Georges Laraque also scored for the Penguins, who have won seven in a row and nine of their last 11 games.

Ty Conklin stopped 27 of 28 shots in his eighth consecutive victory. His shutout streak end at 122 minutes, 58 seconds dating back to Jan. 3.

Greg Campbell scored the lone goal for the Panthers, who have lost five of their last six games. Tomas Vokoun allowed three goals on 23 shots before giving way to Craig Anderson, who finished the game by stopping all 12 shots he faced.
