NHL: Detroit 1, Colorado 0

DETROIT, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Dominik Hasek stopped all 19 shots he faced Tuesday, enabling the Detroit Red Wings to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 1-0.

Detroit's Chris Chelios -- at 45 years, 348 days -- became the second-oldest player in National Hockey League history to play in a game, passing Moe Roberts. Only Gordie Howe (52 years, 6 days) played at an older age.
