NHL: Portland 103, Utah 89

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Martell Webster scored 24 points in the third quarter and finished with a career-high 26 Saturday, leading the Portland Trail Blazers past Utah 103-89.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 points and eight rebounds, Travis Outlaw scored 14 and Sergio Rodriguez had 12 for Portland, which has won 16 of its last 17 games.

Deron Williams led the Jazz with 23 points and seven assists. Mehmet Okur had 15 points and seven rebounds and Matt Harpring scored 14 points.

Utah led 59-52 midway through the third quarter, but the Blazers went on a 23-5 run for the rest of the period -- led by Webster, who hit a three and then made all three free throws after he was fouled on a three-point attempt.

Down 75-64 after three, Utah cut the lead to 79-73 but the Blazers put together a 14-2 run to seal the victory.
