Austrians Matt, Reich finish 1-2 in slalom

ADELBODEN, Switzerland, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Reigning world champion Mario Matt won a World Cup slalom race in Switzerland Sunday by a tenth of a second over fellow Austrian Benjamin Raich.

Matt's winning time was 1:48.45. Raich, the overall cup points leader, was clocked in 1.48.55 and Felix Neureuther of Germany finished at 1:48.59.

Jimmy Cohrane of the United States placed eighth.
