Nieminen, Llodra reach final in Adelaide

ADELAIDE, Australia, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Jarkko Nieminen and Michael Llodra scored straight-set victories Saturday to reach the finals of the Adelaide International tournament in Australia.

The third-seeded Nieminen, of Finland, defeated Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2, 6-4 and Llodra, of France, topped Joseph Sirianni of Australia 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) in semifinal matches.

The tournament is considered a tuneup for the Australian Open, which begins Jan. 14 in Melbourne.
