Nadal, Moya, Youzhny, Cilic reach semis

US OPEN TENNIS DAY 7 IN NEW YORK

CHENNAI, India, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Spanish countrymen Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moya cruised to straight-set victories Friday and will clash in the semifinals of the Chennai Open in India.

Others advancing Friday were Mikhail Youzhny and Marin Cilic of Croatia.

Nadal, 21, the tournament's top-seed and a three-time winner of the French Open, defeated another Spanish player, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 6-3, 6-2, and Moya beat Florent Serra of France, 6-3, 6-4 in quarterfinal matches.

Youzhny eliminated defending champion Xavier Malisse of Belgium, 6-4, 6-4, and the 19-year-old Cilic advanced with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Austrian Stefan Koubek.
