MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony teamed for 59 points Friday to carry the Denver Nuggets past Minnesota 118-107.

The Timberwolves have lost seven in a row, their longest skid of the year.

Iverson made 11 of 20 shots from the field and scored 33 points, while Anthony had 26, giving the Nuggets their fifth win in six games. Anthony Carter added 16 points and 11 assists.

Denver overcame a career-best 34 points from Minnesota's Rashad McCants. Al Jefferson had 24 for the Timberwolves.

Minnesota closed within six points with 1:43 to play on a three-pointer by Antoine Walker, but Iverson touched off an 8-3 run with a lay-up.
