COL BKB: UCLA 76, Stanford 67

STANFORD, Calif., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Josh Shipp scored 21 points Thursday and UCLA inched ahead in the second half to defeat Stanford 76-67 in an early Pac-10 showdown.

The fifth-ranked Bruins improved to 13-1 by winning their sixth straight game. No. 20 Stanford (11-2) had won seven in a row.

Shipp made five three-point shots, one of them putting UCLA in front by 10 with six minutes to play, and both Russell Westbrook and Kevin Lowe chipped in 15 points.

Stanford was led by 17 from Anthony Goods.

UCLA owned a 35-34 advantage at the break.
