Spezza, Datsyuk, Nabokov win NHL honors

NEW YORK, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- The NHL Wednesday named Ottawa's Jason Spezza, Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk and San Jose goalie Evgeny Nabokov as its three top stars for December.

Spezza collected 10 goals and 15 assists, helping the Senators achieve a 9-3-2 record during the month.

Datsyuk had seven goals and 15 assists as the Red Wings ran up a 12-2-1 mark.

Nabokov registered 10 wins, a 1.96 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in December.
